Our Philosophy

The Creative Center for Childhood Research and Training (CCCRT) was formed as an outreach organization to serve as an advocate for young children and their families in the following ways:

  • To engage in research directly related to the education, care and development of young children with and without disabilities.
  • To provide training for professionals and paraprofessionals that will promote the creation of environments advocating young children's education, care and development.
  • To provide training for professionals and paraprofessionals that will promote a better understanding of how to work with families of young children.
  • To provide parent education opportunities designed to support the development of healthy adult/child relationships and prevent child abuse.
  • To provide training for professionals and paraprofessionals that will enhance their knowledge and skills related to working within a team setting designed to mainstream children with disabilities.

"Children should be able to do their own experimenting and their own research. Teachers, of course, can guide them by providing appropriate materials, but the essential thing is that in order for a child to understand something, he must construct it himself, he must re-invent his world."

Jean Piaget 1972
