Tours of The Creative Pre-School

The Creative Pre-School, located in Tallahassee, Florida, has been continuously accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 1989. The program is an inclusive program model and serves families with children of all races, religions and socioeconomic levels from the age of eight weeks through the kindergarten year.

Children with disabilities, children at-risk and children with developmental delays learn, grow, and develop alongside their typically developing peers. The program provides a variety of opportunities through which each child is guided toward his/her optimal social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. The Creative Program has been owned and operated by Dr. Pamela C. Phelps and a dedicated staff of professionals and paraprofessionals for over 30 years.

During the past decade, over 2,000 individuals have toured the Creative Pre-School Program yearly. Interested persons visiting the program will receive program information, assisted professional guidance through the program facility, and a question/answer session at the end of each day’s tour.

First Day Tours

First day tours begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. for a program orientation and tour during center time (10:00-11:30). From 11:30-12:00, observers will see the transition to mealtime and then teachers eating with their meal families. Observers may break for lunch at their convenience and return to talk with individual teachers while children are napping (1:00-3:00). The afternoon includes buffet style snack, afternoon centers and gross motor play in the yard. On-site workshops on topics of interest to the group can also be provided.

Second Day Tours

Second day tours begin at 8:30 and include observation of the morning circle and transition to breakfast. Observers may see the morning transition to centers, center time in the play space of their choice and the remainder of the scheduled day as their time schedule permits.
